Summer Camp
Summer camp is a fun opportunity for a new rider to be introduced to the sport or for a more experienced rider to try things that are a little different from what we do in regular weekly lessons. Camp sessions are kept small with only six riders per session in order to make sure that all campers are safely supervised while mounted.
Children attending camp learn about basic horse care, parts of the horse and the tack, and are taught to help with basic barn chores during the day such as feeding and stall cleaning. Mounted activities include relays, obstacle courses, and “trail riding” around the property. We also do crafts, paint the horses, have grooming competitions and many other fun unmounted activities. Riders attending the advanced camp will learn a Quadrille (mounted routine set to music) which is performed for parents and friends on the last day of camp.
Camp sessions are one week long (Monday through Friday) and run from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM each day. Child care is available until 6:00 PM. The cost of either the beginner camp or the quadrille camp is $350 for the week. Please email myrewyneq@gmail.com or call 503.708.0831 if you are interested in camp and we will send you a registration form. 2011 camp dates coming soon!
